Invite people and choose their roles

Add someone to your organisation, decide what they can do with servers, and whether they can see the money.

Servers and invoices belong to the organisation, so several people can work on them, each with their own login. Each person has a servers role and, separately, Billing access. You manage them under Team.

"Lower roles" means operators and viewers. Every organisation has one owner, who always has Billing access. No servers is for someone who only handles the bills, such as an accountant, so they need Billing access. The Roles tab on the Team page has the same table.

Invite someone#

You need to be the owner or an admin. Open Team and press Invite someone.

Live from the portalThe Invite someone panel, as the owner sees it
  1. 1Email Their email address.
  2. 2Operator Pick one of the four servers roles. The box underneath says what they'll be able to do.
  3. 3Billing access Lets them see and pay the bills. Only the owner can switch it on.
  4. 4Send invite Emails them a link that lasts 48 hours.
  5. 5Compare every role Opens the Roles tab.

Until they use the link they're under Invitations, where Resend sends a fresh link and Cancel withdraws it. Someone with a Darkless login already is added straight away, and switches to your organisation from their own menu.

Accept an invitation#

Open the link in the email.

Live from the portalThe page an invitation link opens
  1. 1Join Example Ltd Who invited you, and as what.
  2. 2Set my password Accepts, and signs you in. Two optional steps follow: two-factor and linking Google or Discord.

Change or remove someone#

  1. 1Save changes Applies the new role or Billing access. Nothing changes until you save.
  2. 2Remove from the team Signs them out of the organisation and takes away everything they held. Asks first.
  3. 3Make owner instead… Hands the organisation to them. Owner only.

An admin can change operators and viewers, but not another admin. To leave an organisation yourself, press Your access on your own row, then Leave. The owner can't leave without transferring first.

Transfer ownership#

Only the owner can, and only to someone who has signed in. Press Make owner instead… on their panel, type TRANSFER OWNERSHIP, and press Make them the owner. They own it straight away and you become an admin. Only they can hand it back.

More than one organisation#

One login can belong to several, for example your own and a client's. Switch between them under Switch organisation, in the menu with your name. What you can do in each depends on your role there.
