Your server's addresses are on the Networking tab. Primary IPv4 stays the same for the life of the server, rebuilds included.

Live from the portalThe Networking tab's addresses, with reverse DNS
  1. 1Addresses Your server's addresses, and the name each points back to.
  2. 2Edit Changes the address's reverse DNS.
  3. 3Add an IPv4 Opens a ticket asking for a second address.
  4. 4Firewall Switches to the firewall. See Set up the firewall.

The addresses come from the guest agent inside your server. If the server is off or the agent isn't running, the tab says so instead.

Set reverse DNS#

Reverse DNS is the name an address points back to. Mail servers check it.

  1. In your domain's DNS, add an A record for the name, such as mail.example.com, with your server's address.
  2. Press Edit beside the address, type the full name and press Save.

If the column says Set by ticket for now, press Ask and we set it for you. You can't change it while a server is suspended.

Get another IPv4#

Add an IPv4 opens a ticket. The monthly price is on the Upgrade tab, as Extra IPv4. IPv6 is coming soon.
