Find your way around the server page
What each part of a server's page shows, the tabs along the top, and how to rename the server.
Every server has its own page: open Servers and choose it by name. Point at a number to see what each part does.
- 1Running What the server is doing now: Running, Stopped, or Suspended for an unpaid invoice.
- 2Rename Changes the server's name in the portal.
- 3Ubuntu 24.04 The operating system, how long it's been up, and how busy it is.
- 4answering The guest agent inside your server. Without it, the portal can't read the address or reset the password straight away.
- 5Reboot The power buttons, in the same place on every tab.
- 6Overview Graphs, Activity, and the cards on the right. This tab.
- 7Access Who on your team can reach the server, and its SSH keys.
- 8Console The server's screen in your browser, without SSH or the network.
- 9Networking Addresses, reverse DNS and the firewall.
- 10Rebuild A fresh operating system on the server.
- 11Upgrade Moves the server to a bigger plan.
- 12Day How far back the graphs go.
- 13Activity Every start, reboot, rebuild and key change, and whether it worked.
- 14Connect The address, the SSH line and the root password.
- 15Transfer this month How much data the server has sent and received this month.
- 16Billing What it costs, when it renews, and how to cancel.

Rename the server#
Press Rename, type the new name and press Save. Use letters, digits and hyphens in parts joined by dots, like web-01.example.com. Two of your servers can't share a name, and you can't rename one while it's being built.
This changes the name in the portal, not inside the operating system. To change that too:
hostnamectl set-hostname web-01.example.comStill stuck? Open a ticket and say which guide you followed.
